NATURE IS WELL DESIGNED

IT IS SAID THAT…

Ladybugs are affectionately called “God’s little creatures.” This nickname comes from a legend dating back to the 10th century.

Condemned to death for a murder committed in Paris, a man, who proclaimed his innocence, owed his salvation to the presence of the small insect. Indeed, on the day of his public execution, the condemned was to be beheaded. But a ladybug landed on his neck.

The executioner tried to remove it, but the beetle returned several times to the same spot. King Robert II (972-1031) then saw it as a divine intervention and decided to pardon the man.

A few days later, the real murderer was found. This story spread quickly, and the ladybug was henceforth considered a lucky charm that should not be crushed.
